“Jessica is a gifted, compassionate and powerful doula who helped make my labor and delivery such an incredible experience. She provided continuous support to me throughout my 22-hour labor, and enabled me to have a natural birth without any interventions or medications. I'm not sure I could have had the experience I truly hoped for without her help, and my husband couldn't have supported me as well as he did without her guidance. Jessica looked me in the eyes, took on my pain as her own, and

took on my joy as her own, too. She is undoubtedly meant for this profession, and I am so grateful for her. She is a kindred spirit and I just love her!”

“Having Jessica on my birth was a blessing. I didn’t have the best experience on my birth and Jessica’s company and support was so valuable for me and my family. I was not able to conceive the way I wanted naturally in the birth center and with the help of my mother and husband next to me. Things got a little harder after 19 hours of labor and I had to go to the hospital . Once in the hospital my dream of a natural birth crumble and I felt terrible end up in C-section but had a beautiful healthy boy. Jessica was with me since the day before when my water broke not sure where she gets the energy but helped me all the way and in every single way.. When I was not able to think what I wanted because of pain and exhaustion she will ask me the most accurate questions for the moment and I just had to shake my head and things will happened like magic. I didn’t anyone in the room except for my husband but how can I tell that to my mother and mother in law that came from far away to help me!! Well she did it in the best way for me and there was not hurt feeling whatsoever. She new what I needed on my labor: massage, water, walking, silence, humming..etc. It was great I didn’t have to think on any of this and neither my husband that was so nervous and tired. He was able to rest in peace and she was with me the whole time. The most crucial part of Jessica’s help was at the hospital. As first time parents and me heartbroken I had no clue what to do and what to accept in the hospital . Jessica spoke to the nurses and the doctor about everything because she knew what I wanted and she knew what to ask for. My experience in the hospital was really good after all because she was there with me all the way until I had the baby on my arms. My husband, my mother and mother in-law will be always so grateful to her . She is a very strong positive women that can offer you the best support. She is a great friend of us now.”

“Where to begin. Having Jessica as our doula was amazing. She provided emotional support for my husband and I as our daughter's birth approached. She taught us labor positions; she listened and answered our questions. During our daughter's birth she provided a calm strength for both of us. She coached me to breathe through my contractions and spent hours pressing on my back. She maintained eye contact with me when my epidural was placed. She was our advocate at the hospital, professionally and courteously interacting with hospital staff, but also making sure that our boundaries were respected. During my entire labor and birth Jessica was flexible, adapting as my needs changed. I experienced a long and difficult labor, and with Jessica's support, I was able to have a vaginal birth. I can't overstate Jessica's kindness, strength, and professionalism. She is caring, organized, intuitive, and practical. Her suggestions for pre-birth exercises (books to read, journaling to complete) were invaluable. Her presence during my labor and birth anchored my husband and I, and gave us a peaceful, joyful beginning to parenthood.”

“I feel very fortunate to have met Jessica during my pregnancy with my second child.  My goal was to have an unmedicated natural birth and that was the outcome.  I felt at ease letting Jess know my fears which was important because it enabled me to lean on her for support during pregnancy, labor and birth.  She included my husband in everything and was always on top of things.  Overall I am glad we decided to have her as our doula because she empowered me with her support and words to help push my daughter out.  During pregnancy I was interested in placenta encapsulation.  When I found out Jess did this plus was a doula I thought win-win! She explained the many benefits of it very well which encouraged me to do I. After the quick process of encapsulating the placenta.  I anxiously too them because after the 3rd day after birth I was feeling sad and morning the loss of having one child.  After 2 days of taking them I was laughing, ad energy and didn't have that "empty" feeling I had with my first.”

“Jessica has helped me so much throughout my pregnancy and postpartum. I honestly feel no monetary amount could equal the support she has given me. We first met and interviewed for doula support when I was newly pregnant and uncertain if I would have my partner with me for the birth. I immediately felt a connection and she went above and beyond to answer any questions I had and help me feel at ease with where I was at. Throughout my pregnancy we developed a friendship and whenit was time for me to birth, she was the first person there supporting me. I chose to birth at home and she helped set the mood with essential oils diffusing, helping my partner help me through the contractions, and working her butt off to get the birth pool set up with hot water for me. Even though I ended up not wanting much touching during labor, she offered invaluable reminders to stay hydrated, keep control of my breath, remain relaxed, and coaching during the pushing stage. She helped take care of me immediately postpartum by making me tea, making sure breastfeeding was successful, and getting me comfortable for my first night as a mom. She also came over and encapsulated my placenta in my home a couple of days later which was awesome! In my postpartum journey, now 16 months out, we have remained friends. Her vast knowledge of all things pregnancy, birth, and beyond has been an amazing resource of information to guide my postpartum healing both physically and emotionally. I definitely would not have had such an amazing experience without her. I highly recommend every service she has to offer.”

“I was a bit shell shocked when I became pregnant and didn't know where to begin preparing myself for this huge change in my life. A friend encouraged me to go to her prenatal yoga class. Jessica was the instructor and I was instantly at ease with her.  She had such joy emanating from her anytime she referenced her children and their births. It made me realize that perhaps I shouldn't focus on the upcoming worst pain I'll ever go through in my life and instead focus on the change that was going on within me. During her classes, we learned about so many different aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, ranging from kegel exercises to breathing techniques to pain management to connecting and trusting yourself. We could ask her anything and she'd always have the answer.

I did not have a straight forward childbirth. Long story short, I ended up with a beautiful baby boy who had a 15" circumference head and weighed 9 lbs 2 oz delivered via c-section. All my hopes and dreams of a natural childbirth had been shattered and I honestly don't know if I could have kept myself together through all of it if Jessica hadn't been there to help not only me, but also my husband. I think he was feeling pretty helpless at some points and she really helped him find ways to be a participant.

Other highlights:

  • she took really great notes of when symptoms occurred and what drugs were administered

  • she was very proactive at asking the doctor/nurses questions that I had when I didn't have the wherewithall to

  • she discreetly left the room to give my husband and I alone time when she sensed we needed it

  • she gives one killer foot rub

I could write a million more things, but basically it comes down to that Jessica really loves what she does and is therefore a great choice for a doula.  I highly recommend her.”

“Jessica came highly recommended, so we contacted her to discuss her doula services. Jessica made us feel comfortable and confident about the upcoming birth of our baby. We met several times prior to our birth, and she took the time to address our questions and concerns. She brought ideas to the meetings that we had not even considered. Jessica is very knowledgeable on pregnancy health and wellness topics such as diet, exercise, and emotional well-being. She is attentive to both Mama and Papa. She made it clear that she was available to us anytime, day or night. Knowing that we had her support was a relief for both of us.

At the onset of my labor, I called Jessica and she helped me relax and stay calm. I labored at home and later we decided together that it was time to head to the hospital. Jessica met us there promptly and helped us get settled in. She took an active role in communicating with hospital staff and made sure our wishes were known.

I was in labor for 36 hours; Jessica was by my side supporting me in every way. I can’t imagine going through the experience without her! She was invaluable. Not only was she there for me, she was equally supportive of my husband. She stayed by my side constantly all through the night.

Hiring Jessica as our Doula is the best decision I made for our birth; I couldn’t imagine it without her. In fact, if we are blessed with another baby, I hope to have Jessica right there with us again! I recommend Jessica and her services with my whole heart and know that she will bring calmness, love, and support to any birth. We also took advantage of some of the post-delivery services she offers and were very impressed with her knowledge. Jessica is professional, responsible, and positive. We literally can’t say enough good things about her Doula services and hope that you have the opportunity to work with her as you welcome your precious little one into the world.”

“Jessica was such a huge help to us in our postpartum days!! She was so real and totally understood what I was going through. She encapsulated my placenta. She brought me smooth move tea and nursing pads. She listened, shared stories, and gave pep talks as needed, and was totally down to earth about it! She is a real Fairbanks mama and knew how to deal with the challenges of life up there. I am so grateful she was there with us.”
